Award winning danish brewery Åben are dropping in for a tap take over and beer tasting on Thursday, 27. february.
We expect around 8 different beers on tap, 6 of which will be included in the tasting. This is a great chance to hear all about the brewery, the people behind it and of course, most importantly, about the great beers that they are brewing.
We expect the following beers to be on tap for the evening….
Stolen fruit red berries, Berliner weisse Tepache pineapple sour, sour B61, NEIPA Circle, session IPA Cloudless, west coast IPA Be My Brown Ale Solar eclipse, imperial IPA Milk the cow, oatmeal milk stout
The beers will be on tap from 16:00 and the tasting will be held at 19:00.
Tickets for the tastings can be purchased online here
Lukas from the brewery will be hosting an evening at The Cat And Barrel on Thursday, 23. January.
Whilst we usually have Ebeltoft’s fantastic Wildflower on tap, for this event we will have 6 or 7 of their beers on tap and more in bottles.
If you would like a chance to try some of the great beers, and hear the story behind the brewery and its head brewer Peder Zacho Hansen then this is your chance. At 19:00 Lukas is hosting a beer tasting where he will talk you through 6 different beer samples.
Included in the price for the tasting is a pint of your favourite Ebeltoft beer after the tasting !
Tickets are available through our webshop at Highlanders Bar (owners of The Cat And Barrel).
Each year on the Thursday before ‘j-dag’ we celebrate the Danish beer enthusiasts promotion of great Christmas beers from breweries who are not mainstream..
This year as we are only just opening, we will be celebrating our official opening on OJ-dag with a visit from Marton from Mad Scientist..
…but do not fear, we have lots of christmas beers on there way – so whilst the less demanding beer drinkers will be enjoying those first drops of snow we will be filling your glasses with some great Christmas beers from around the globe…
a big thanks to everyone who came down to the bar over the last couple of days, we know everything wasn’t quite finished, but we felt it important to keep to our plans for opening…
Over the next few days we will receive the last parts needed to complete our beer installation and get all our taps working as well as having time for us to finish off a few other projects around the bar.
See you for the grand opening on Thursday 31. October when Marton from Mad Scientist will be joining us …
